VEIL OF EMOTIONS
[We need to pierce the veil of emotions]
Hi folks! How is life? Hope its fine. Even mine is fine, too.
As, nowadays, I’m having gala time. Tomorrow only, I was sitting with a very close friend of mine. Sometimes, we got nostalgic about the old college days, talked about future life as she also got married recently. While we were busy in our chit-chat, I noticed her eyes were moist and she was emotional. She was suffering from ‘mother-in-law syndrome’. The saddest part is, she was tortured and above all restrained from meeting her parents by her appalling in-laws, specially her mother-in-law. She narrated her woeful story about ‘how’ they tortured her. Listening to her plight was awful.
Few days back, I met our very close family friends. They seemed very happy. Didi, as I addressed her was talking to me. In a moment’s time, I noticed that she was looking continuously at our neighbor’s child who was sitting beside us. I found the behavior bit peculiar, but then, later, I realized that she behaved in that particular way, as she was childless and longed to have a baby. Her eyes told everything.
For a sports person, a sport is his life. If an ambitious sportsperson is not able to achieve his goal in his life, he almost perishes. And, sometimes they become so depressed that they don’t even disclose their hidden urge to anyone.
In another incident, a couple came to a party and they were behaving as they would die without each other and were fully engrossed within themselves that people were envious of them. To later realize, that it was all pretence. The husband was having an extra-marital affair. The lady was the most ignored and had no kind of understanding.
Extrovert, introverts are the terms used for defining different natures of people. Extroverts are more open whereas Introverts are more reserve kind of people. They are hesitant to open up too soon with the people.
There are people who look very open in their thoughts but in reality, they are not. Basically, unfulfilled desires are stored in one’s sub-conscious and come up through dreams. Whatever we feel, make way through dreams’. Dream Analysis is a big way to understand people’s hidden desires, feelings, and thoughts.
Youngsters, new generation claim to be open, advance and very modern. Further, they claim to be frank about their thoughts, preferences, living style and much more. But, the reality is majority pretend to be open as from within they are cowards, who can’t express their feelings ‘openly’. They are scared from within that ‘what will people say’, if they disclose their thoughts to everyone.
To an extent, that’s true as people tend to do that.
Emotions are our feelings. Hidden emotions or thoughts are that we have hidden them deep into ourselves and not let anyone fiddle with them or even see them.
A girl loves a boy, a boy loves a girl and in majority of cases is unable to express his or her true love for each other. The biggest fear is ‘Rejection’ or ‘fear of failure’.
There is a beautiful ghazal,
‘Jo hum chahe, vo mil jaye,
Kab aisa hota hai…’
That becomes the reason for depression and underlying feel of loneliness. As we aim for so many things, and many end up getting nothing is the major frustrating thing. Further, a disgusting feeling that "I’m not worth anything, everybody is achieving so much and I’m lagging behind"--- the feeling in the subconscious mind", negatively affects one’s personality and tarnishes self confidence.
In a recent bizarre incident at Noida, two sisters were found in a very deplorable condition as they were confined to their apartment for months together. They were in state of depression. Their parents died, their brother got married and left them. They were all alone. They were residing in an apartment where other families too lived in the same building. They went without food for months together. When the girls were taken out, one died and the other one had nearly become a skeleton. That’s the plight of humanity. Unfortunate is the situation that neighbors were so occupied in their daily chores that nobody didn’t even noticed that there was no movement in the flat from such a long period.
The gruesome situation arises a pivotal question as, ‘Where people have no time for others, how can we expect that people will spend time in heart to heart interaction, may be with their closed ones? As they are so much so occupied in their daily chores of life.
Things not shared in open are hidden. Underlying problems are many. People are scared that the other person will make fun of them, if they share with others openly. The problem is of ‘society’s attitude’. They don’t allow open ‘expression of thoughts’. They ridicule other’s ideas, other’s ambitions.’ It’s sheer luck if one has very understanding people around them who understand other’s feelings. The biggest problem that we all are surrounded by is fanatics, who don’t allow the slightest positive changes to occur in the society. If a widow wishes to get remarried, people for once will raise hue and cry. Consequently, a female withdraws herself from sharing her ideas with any one.
Not only this, if women or men are dissatisfied with their sexual life, it becomes difficult for them to share such things in open, with few exceptions. And, majority will never take it in open stride.
Non-acceptance of certain things by our society or people is the factor that people are not able to share things with confidence. They aren’t sure as to what they are thinking is right and can they disclose this idea with someone?
Sometimes, people are over-ambitious and wish to reach great heights. But, if they tell their dream to somebody, many ‘criticize’, underestimate and disheartens them by saying , "Forget it, you can’t do anything". So, one holds himself back from disclosing things.
As is said, ‘Nanak Dukhiya sab sansaar’. That is, many are going through one or the other kind of sufferings in his or her life. The intensity may vary. A small child might wish to score highest in the class and is unable to do so. He has this hidden desire to reach high and is doing lot of hard work. When one talks to different people, then we realize how much pain is there in people’s heart. Even if majority doesn’t show, in the heart of heart problems are there.
Sharing with very close ones hidden desires, ideas, and thoughts gives a person some relief. Emotions are emotions, whether they are hidden or close. Instead, things should be viewed in the most positive light and desires should be made their strength, and be seen as the most positive goal, without hurting anyone and by eliminating the negativity in them. The achievement of them should be their ultimate preference. A kind of middle way out should be searched and a new angle or a positive direction should be given to beneath unfulfilled desires. One has to try to give meaning to one’s life. It’s very essential to understand that nobody gets everything in life. Instead, one should try to perceive and make his or her desires as their ultimate goal of life.
Almost everybody is tied in the clutches of hidden emotions and finding an outlet for their pent up emotions, which is a must.
Only this can be said,
Kissi ko muqammal jahan nahi milta,
Kabhi zameen nahi milti, kabhi aasman nahi milta.
So, try hard to pierce the veil of emotions and achieve things by turning dreams or desires into reality.
